New Orleans what can I say about her she is beautiful. New Orleans is a wonderful place with great people. I learned so much from being a part of Alternative Breaks and my group mates made me feel welcomed from the beginning. We assisted in painting houses, caulking the wood boards, removing old nails. replacing boards, priming the house and so much more. This trip inspirited me and others to want to volunteer more in our communities. For me I always wanted to help New Orleans never knew how. I got my chance and so did everyone on this trip. We put hard work into making sure that Mr. Holmes house looked beautiful and that Anthony house was fixed to the best of our ability. We laughed together and we cried together witnessing the terror that New Orleans went through. People like Mr. Mack gave up everything to help people out in the community so they can have a community center. This man inspirited all who witnessed him speak. I had a tear in my eye because this man gave up his life savings to see the happiness of others. We embarked in a journey and we gave ourselves and hearts to the people. I must say that the people of New Orleans just want to be loved and they would like things to be set right. I believe in these people and this city. This trip changed our lives and gave us a whole new outlook on reality. The most important things in life aren’t money, valuables and careers. The most important things are people and education once you have that everything else will fall into place.
